Green Eggs and Ham

Ian's favorite book is Green Eggs and Ham so last night that is what we had for dinner:) It was a little scary looking and the words "but I do not like green eggs and ham" did come out of Ian's mouth but he eventually ate it all and asked for more!

Park Fun

Thankfully it is starting to be a little warmer here so we were able to get back to the park. Here's Abbie Grace and her little friend Tally swining and a picture of Ian on his tummy...

Falling down the stairs

Well, it was bound to happen...Ian fell down the stairs tonight not once but twice! The first time freaked me completely out so we had Ian screaming, me screaming for Joe, Abbie Grace screaming because I wasn't holding her, and our friend Tanya was here with her children so it was a regular circus! But Joe was the voice of reason and calmed me down and then things got better. Yes, Ian is fine but he did have a bloody nose and a puffy lip. The second time he fell down was while Joe was behind him and Joe did admit that is was a bit shocking to see him go head first tumbling down the stairs. (See I wasn't just being dramatic!) Whew...I would love to have a ranch style house at this moment!

Abbie Grace is 8 months old today!

Hey...Look at me...

Abbie Grace has figured out how to annoy Ian and does a really good job at it! Wherever he is she rolls to him and takes whatever is in his hands. It's really funny to watch. He is normally really good with her but sometimes gets frustrated and whacks her!

Waving with New Shoes On:)

This picture covers two firsts...Abbie Grace has learned to wave and she got her first pair of real shoes! We went to Stride Rite on Monday and she got fitted with her first pair. We picked the girl version of Ian's first pair of shoes:)

She is rolling around like crazy but still no interest in crawling, solid food, or getting more than 2 bottom teeth (and those aren't even in all the way!)!

Happy Valentine's Day

We are snowed/iced in today so Ian and Abbie Grace didn't get to have their Valentine's day parties today:( We are all going to get pizza to celebrate though...no more romantic dates:) I managed to get stuck in the snow coming into the drive way today. A neighbor and Joe had to get my car unstuck...not good!
Ian is 34 months today...can you believe it?!?!

7 months

Abbie Grace was 7 months old on Tuesday! She isn't really interested in crawling but that is ok with us:)

Ian is about 70% potty trained!! WOO HOO! Something clicked a few weeks ago and he is getting better daily. Still no number 2's in the potty but that is ok! I'm sure he will appreciate me airing his business on this blog when he is a teenager:)

Here are a few pics of AG...we had some snow this past weekend.

Washington Weather....

So yesterday it was 70 degrees here! I am disappointed because I knew we would have snow by now but Joe keeps telling me to be careful what I ask for! We went for a 4 mile walk down by the Potomac River yesterday. It's still cool that we can look over and see the Washington Monument, all the memorials, Arlington Cemetery, and everything else DC has to offer! Of course, the traffic is still here too!

Sitting UP

Abbie Grace is officially sitting up on her own! She is like a different baby! So content to play with her toys and laugh with Ian...

Zoom Around the Room

On Saturday Ian started a class at our rec center called "Zoom around the Room". It's a padded room with big soft blocks and a huge ball pit. He had a blast. He was definitely the most outgoing and rambunctious! He's one of the older ones in the class too. Instead of easing into the ball pit he jumps off the side and does a cannon ball! At the beginning of the class the teacher said they only have 10 minutes of organized time and I was thinking that would not be enough because "my child" could handle more than that...well, I had to eat my words! He was not a big fan of organized fun which surprised me since he goes to daycare and does well there but I think it had something to do with Joe and I being there. It wore him out and he had a great time though! The next 9 weeks should be lots of fun.

Christmas Pictures

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas! Ours was busy as usual! Tammy's dad come into town Saturday night, we went to church Sunday morning, ER visit for Ian Sunday afternoon for an ear infection, Joe's parents Sunday night, opened gifts Christmas morning, cooked breakfast for 14 at our house, and then Joe's grandmas for Christmas dinner! Whew...I'm tired just writing it all out! It was a great time seeing family and catching up with relatives we had not seen in quite a while. Tammy's dad left today to go back to the great state of Texas to rest!
Ian had a very Thomas Christmas! He recieved Thomas puzzles, trains, a tent, towel, sweatshirt, and aqua doodle! And there were a few books, dvds, and "Cars" items as well!
Abbie Grace recieved a kitty cat towel, books, The Little Mermaid, magic cube, tabbie, and baby dolls.
Tammy has to go back to work tomorrow so the kids go back to daycare after 2 weeks off...those ladies are going to wonder what happened to the Becker kids! AG has not been sat down for 2 weeks!

6 Month Picture

Abbie Grace turned 6 months on Saturday.

Busy Busy Busy

Wow...have we been busy! I'm sure you all have been too though! Ian, Abbie Grace, and Tammy just got back from SC. We went down for Michael's graduation from Winthrop (YAY!), then to Charleston, and then to Florence. Grammy spoiled the kids like only grandma's can! And Ian's uncles played with him and gave him lots of their cars that they played with as little boys. He loved it! We had the big family Christmas party at Tammy's aunts. It was so great to see all of the family that we don't get to see living away from SC. Then on Wednesday we went to Florence to see Angela (Tammy's best friend from college). Her little girl, Katie, and Ian had a ball playing together. Then we had to get back in the car for the drive home...ugh! What should have been a 5.5 hour trip took 7.5 hours:) We stopped at a rest stop about 45 minutes from home for Abbie Grace to eat and watched the traffic come to a standstill! Oh well...we love DC traffic! We are glad to be home. Ian paced in the garage waiting for Joe to arrive and was so excited to see him.

Both kids slept in this morning. In fact, AG is still sleeping at 8:30! She and Ian both slept with me the whole week we were gone so it will take some adjusting for her. Ian was glad to have the whole bed back to himself and was sleeping sideways when I went and checked on him this morning. Whew...I may need to go to the chiropractor after sleeping with him for a week!

We wish you all a Merry Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour!
