Christmas Pictures

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas! Ours was busy as usual! Tammy's dad come into town Saturday night, we went to church Sunday morning, ER visit for Ian Sunday afternoon for an ear infection, Joe's parents Sunday night, opened gifts Christmas morning, cooked breakfast for 14 at our house, and then Joe's grandmas for Christmas dinner! Whew...I'm tired just writing it all out! It was a great time seeing family and catching up with relatives we had not seen in quite a while. Tammy's dad left today to go back to the great state of Texas to rest!
Ian had a very Thomas Christmas! He recieved Thomas puzzles, trains, a tent, towel, sweatshirt, and aqua doodle! And there were a few books, dvds, and "Cars" items as well!
Abbie Grace recieved a kitty cat towel, books, The Little Mermaid, magic cube, tabbie, and baby dolls.
Tammy has to go back to work tomorrow so the kids go back to daycare after 2 weeks off...those ladies are going to wonder what happened to the Becker kids! AG has not been sat down for 2 weeks!

Busy Busy Busy

Wow...have we been busy! I'm sure you all have been too though! Ian, Abbie Grace, and Tammy just got back from SC. We went down for Michael's graduation from Winthrop (YAY!), then to Charleston, and then to Florence. Grammy spoiled the kids like only grandma's can! And Ian's uncles played with him and gave him lots of their cars that they played with as little boys. He loved it! We had the big family Christmas party at Tammy's aunts. It was so great to see all of the family that we don't get to see living away from SC. Then on Wednesday we went to Florence to see Angela (Tammy's best friend from college). Her little girl, Katie, and Ian had a ball playing together. Then we had to get back in the car for the drive home...ugh! What should have been a 5.5 hour trip took 7.5 hours:) We stopped at a rest stop about 45 minutes from home for Abbie Grace to eat and watched the traffic come to a standstill! Oh well...we love DC traffic! We are glad to be home. Ian paced in the garage waiting for Joe to arrive and was so excited to see him.

Both kids slept in this morning. In fact, AG is still sleeping at 8:30! She and Ian both slept with me the whole week we were gone so it will take some adjusting for her. Ian was glad to have the whole bed back to himself and was sleeping sideways when I went and checked on him this morning. Whew...I may need to go to the chiropractor after sleeping with him for a week!

We wish you all a Merry Christmas as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour!

Ian or Abbie Grace?

5 Months Old

Abbie Grace had quite an eventful week! She cut 2, yes 2, teeth on Thanksgiving day, found her feet which has provided lots of entertainment, and learned to scream to get anyone and everyone's attention!

Christmas Train

Tammy's grandmother got Ian a train for his birthday so we set it up under the Christmas tree. Ian and Joe are having such a good time with it!

What's Happening...

Sorry it's been so long since our last post. We've been so busy. Abbie Grace has now eaten all variations of first baby foods and didn't have any problems:) Her favorite so far is sweet potatoes. She is now rolling over, talking all the time, and loves to be in the exersaucer. Ian is talking more everyday and cracks us up. He LOVES the movie Cars so we watch it daily along with Thomas, of course! He is playing with Abbie Grace more and more and loves it when she laughs at him. He helps her roll over and tickles her often. Bath times are more fun these days too as he helps.
The kids and Tammy went to TN Veterans Day weekend and had a wonderful time visiting and catching up with friends. We sure do miss you guys!
Ian and Abbie Grace spent this morning at Grandma and Popies house while Joe and I worked at our church packing 10,000 Turkey dinners for families around DC. We all had a great time! I'm not sure who was more tired though Popie and Grandma or Joe and I!

Cereal Time...4 Months Old!

Sad but true, Abbie Grace is now eating cereal! Yesterday for lunch she had her first "solid" food and seemed to like it...of course she loves to eat so there wasn't much doubt! This morning she did even better. It's so sad that she is already at this stage. Where did the time go! She is 4 months old today.

Potty Training...

This afternoon we started potty training...oh joy! We bought Ian Cars, Thomas, and Tool underwear and have been telling him all week he couldn't wear them until he used the potty. He didn't really care though! So I spoke with his daycare teacher and we have decided to just put him in the underwear and see what happens. So a timer goes off every 15 minutes for him to sit on the potty for 5 minutes. As you can see from the picture the potty is now in front of the tv! So far no action but we are still hopeful! Pray pray pray!

Skyline Drive

Today we went to skyline drive with Joe's parents to see the leaves in full color. It was so beautiful! Ian had a great time. We had breakfast overlooking the ridge then went on a 2 mile hike.

One of my friends from work sent Ian some Thomas the Train slippers and boy does he love them. He took off his shoes immediately and put them on and hasn't taken them off since! Thanks Ms. Julie!!!

Amish Abbie Grace

Abbie Grace and I went to Lancaster County PA this past weekend for a chocolate festival. We put Abbie Grace in one of the bonnets to see what she would look like.

Fun Fall Stuff

This weekend was full of fun outside activities around VA.

Friday we went to the farm and Ian went on his first pony ride. Grandpa is so proud! He also fed the goats, went on a tractor ride, and played on the hay. Saturday we all went to the Corn Maize (www.cornmazeintheplains.com) and let 2-2.5 year olds lead us through the corn fields. The did incredibly well:)

We have started going to a new church for the past 3 weeks and are really enjoying it. We have met some really neat couples that are in the same stage of life as us so we have lots to talk about and compare notes:)

3 months old

Abbie Grace is 3 months old today. Time has certainly flown by! We are all doing well...finally into a routine with work, daycare, and family time. Joe's schooling is going well...lots of work though. Ian is still in love with Thomas the train and talks about him all the time, even in his sleep! Abbie Grace is rolling from side to side but not completely over yet...thank goodness. I am not ready for any major milestones of mobility with her!
I spent the morning at a place called "Let's Dish" and prepared 24 meals for us. I had never heard of this before but apparently it is growing across America. Basically you sign up online and choose the meals you want to make from a pre-selected menu. Then you get there and there are stations setup where you make each dish and package it to be frozen. The meat is prepackaged but if you want a lot of onions or not a lot of something else you can make it to taste. After you package it you put a label on it with cooking instructions, put it in the freezer, and then go and make your next meal. So for the next 24 meals they are basically ready and all I have to do is cook them (oven, crock pot, etc) but more than half the work is done! If you want to check it out go to www.letsdish.com. I am already signed up for October I enjoyed it so much. But if you go be prepared to move for the full 2 hours...not a lot of social time.
