3 months old

Abbie Grace is 3 months old today. Time has certainly flown by! We are all doing well...finally into a routine with work, daycare, and family time. Joe's schooling is going well...lots of work though. Ian is still in love with Thomas the train and talks about him all the time, even in his sleep! Abbie Grace is rolling from side to side but not completely over yet...thank goodness. I am not ready for any major milestones of mobility with her!
I spent the morning at a place called "Let's Dish" and prepared 24 meals for us. I had never heard of this before but apparently it is growing across America. Basically you sign up online and choose the meals you want to make from a pre-selected menu. Then you get there and there are stations setup where you make each dish and package it to be frozen. The meat is prepackaged but if you want a lot of onions or not a lot of something else you can make it to taste. After you package it you put a label on it with cooking instructions, put it in the freezer, and then go and make your next meal. So for the next 24 meals they are basically ready and all I have to do is cook them (oven, crock pot, etc) but more than half the work is done! If you want to check it out go to www.letsdish.com. I am already signed up for October I enjoyed it so much. But if you go be prepared to move for the full 2 hours...not a lot of social time.

The Wiggles

The Wiggles came to Washington DC today and for those of you who have been around Ian know he LOVES the Wiggles. (Tickets went on sale the morning after Abbie Grace was born and we were frantically trying to find someone to order them for us since we were in the hospital if that gives you any idea!) Ian was really pumped to go see them PLUS we got to ride the Metro, who we call Thomas the Train, so it was an extra special event. He was mesmerized the entire hour and a half. He clapped some but was more in awe that he was actually seeing them. It was an incredible show. Afterwards we went to a sandwich shop and he had a PB&J and cookies. What a big day for the little guy! (Abbie Grace was there too but only woke up once to cry from her mean shots!)

Shots...

Abbie Grace had her first round of shots today and was not very happy! They gave her 3 shots that contained 8 vaccines and then the Roto virus vaccine orally. The nurse told me normally they don't cry until the third shot but not Abbie Grace. She screamed bloody murder from the first stick until well after the last! Mommy cried too though:)

Here's her stats:
Weight: 12 pounds 6.4 ounces 90th percentile
Length: 24 inches 97th percentile
Head: 40.2 CM 90th percentile

2 Months Old

Sad but true...Abbie Grace is 2 months old today. We are off for her 2 month appointment shortly.

Sleepy Girl

Abbie Grace did not want to go to sleep tonight so I sat her in her bouncy chair while I exercised but got these cut pics of her while she was dozing off...finally! And yes she is attempting to suck her thumb! Just like her brother:)

Philadelphia

Yesterday we drove up to Philadelpia for the day. We saw Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and took a tour on one of those Duck vehicles that goes from the road to the water. It was a lot of fun. Ian had a blast once we got to the water. Thankfully he did not destroy anything in Independence Hall:)

Beach Trip

We went to visit Joe's grandparents last week and took the kids to the beach. The sand was so hot we couldn't take our shoes off. Ian was scared of the ocean so we only stayed for an hour! Abbie Grace chilled in her tent...yes she is giving the peace sign in the picture! Ian went down the water twice with Joe but a wave got him one time and then the tide came up and knocked down his sand castles the second!

Stay Puff Ian

Ian went in the big pool with Daddy on Sunday. He has a Nemo suit that keeps him afloat. When we walked out to the pool area he received a few chuckles since it makes him 3 times his regular size up top but then you see these tiny legs sticking out the bottom!

One Month Old

Abbie Grace turned 1 month old on Sunday! Wow...time has flown by!

DADDY'S HOME!

YAY! Daddy is home for good! Well, for at least a year! Joe got home safely Saturday afternoon from training for 7 weeks. Ian was so excited to see him and ran to him. Then he told him "I'm so poud (proud) of you Daddy!". Joe was surprised at how much Abbie Grace had changed. He was only home for a couple of days when she was born and left when she was only 36 hours old.
I am probably the most excited though! Joe has a couple of weeks off before going back to work so I can catch up on some sleep! Plus I will have someone to talk to...Most of you are probably saying "poor Joe" since you have had to be the ones to fill in the gap while he was gone!

Fun with Friends

On Friday we had our friends come over to play. There were 8 children ranging from 4 weeks to almost 4, including 1 set of twins, and two very excited children that had not seen each other in a few months (Ian and Azilee). While cooking dinner there were 4 of them chasing each other around and around the kitchen area...tons of fun! I'm sure you wish you could have been here:)! Our group from TN of 10 friends that started 3 years ago with only 3 children has grown to over 20 children! How did we manage that with all these deployments?!?!

Pool Time

Ian, Abbie Grace, and I made our first trip to the pool this week. Ian had a great time...even put his head under a couple of times. Joe is going to start working with him in the big pool soon:)

Comfy Cat

Aunt Kerry and Cousin Cooper sent Abbie Grace this soft kitty cat lovie. She will love this as much as Ian loves his "bankie" that Aunt Kerry gave him when he was born:)

Funny Ian Stories

Here are a couple of funny Ian stories for you:

Last night Abbie Grace was sleeping in her bouncer and when she woke up she started crying. Ian went over to her and said "SHHH be quiet!". He then started in with his Ianese (own language) and lectured her for about 30 seconds before I had to stop him.

I've started having Ian sleep with his door closed so that he is not waken by Abbie Grace. He has a baby monitor in his room so that I can hear him though. This morning the trash truck came by about 7:15 and woke him up so I heard him looking out of his window looking for the truck. Once he was bored with that he laid back down and said ""mommy vere are vu..de do is cosed."

He is such a funny little boy and growing up so quickly. He loves his new daycare and is doing really well. This morning when he got there, he walked to the sink and washed his hands all by himself (daycare policy that they have to wash their hands as soon as they get there). Then he looked at me and said "Bye bye mommy" and blew me a kiss. He acted like such a big boy I wanted to cry!

Ian's coming around...

Ian is starting to come around and associate with Abbie Grace a little more. He's still not completely sure of her and poked me in the tummy yesterday and said "baby back":)
